I joined EA because I was inspired by the community of cheerful and friendly Engineering students who I saw when I first went to their first meeting of the 2019-2020 school year. This was a community that was excited about what they did, and wanted to spread that enthusiasm. Throughout the year, I gradually became more involved in EA and eventually joined Presentation Team. With PT, I'm able to visit with elementary, middle, and high school students to teach them about topics and opportunities in STEM. Now that I'm one of the Vice Presidents of On-Campus events, I help organize events where these students can visit UConn campus for this purpose; I've also helped create a YouTube channel so that we can reach students who we may not be able to otherwise. I hope to continue to plan fun and engaging visits and videos to help encourage younger students to pursue careers in STEM.
