The UConn Engineering Ambassadors (EA) promotes STEM education and careers through outreach, mentorship, and public engagement. We visit K-12 schools to deliver interactive engineering presentations, host hands-on workshops, and participate in events like the Connecticut Invention Convention and STEM nights. On campus, we give tours of UConn’s engineering facilities, assist with admissions events, and inspire prospective students by sharing our experiences. We also focuses on professional development, helping members refine public speaking and leadership skills while networking with industry professionals and faculty. Additionally, we collaborate with organizations like SWE, NSBE, and SHPE to support diversity in engineering and volunteer at community STEM initiatives such as Girls in STEM Day. Through competitions, conferences, and outreach, the Engineering Ambassadors work to ignite interest in engineering while building our own communication and advocacy skills. Open to UConn engineering students, the program offers valuable experience in STEM education and leadership.
Engineering Ambassadors' Greater Body meetings are held each Monday from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM in the Pharmacy/Biology Building room 129.
Engineering Ambassadors' Presentation Team meetings are held each Monday from 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM in the Pharmacy/Biology Building room 129.
Engineering Ambassadors' Tour Guides meetings are held each Tuesday from 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM in the Lawrence D. McHugh Hall room 106.
This is a great opportunity to network with existing and alumni UConn students. The meetings are fun, interactive and informative. All students are invited to join EA. To be considered an active member of any EA branch, you should attend weekly meetings and volunteer to participate in EA events such as Open House, STEM Hallows, and Science Bowl; as well as any PT visits or TG tours as the come up. We give out prizes and gear for those that make it to our meetings and participate!
If you'd like to list 'Active Member of Engineering Ambassadors' on your resume, we ask that you volunteer for at least 10 hours per semester.
